I sometimes wander into an alternate reality where I’m not a mother. In these 2 years,
would I have been at a different stage with my work? Would I have become a successful artist? Would I have become rich and famous? What would I have done with all this child-free TIME on my hands? It’s a guilty thought... because I’m SO happy to be a mum to the most beautiful little cheeseling. But I wonder, and the mind wanders.
Then another confusing thought walks in... I had ALL these child-free years before I became a mum. And if I choose to focus on everything I’ve learned and done, I have had a great start to the marathon career ahead of me. If I choose to focus on what I didn’t do or achieve, well, 2 more child-free years weren’t about to unlock mammoth success, were they now?
I usually have about 2 more minutes of wandering left before I’m needed by a smol possessed t-Rex with the cutest smile.
